Overview
Cherry Hill Park is one of those places that causes mixed emotions. It is very much an RV park, very little nature, very narrow sites, and the constant sound of the Interstate nearby. There are many amenities that are appealing to the kids though, so it has its strengths. It is certainly convenient to DC and Baltimore.

Entry Date: June/July 2010
I had to be in Baltimore on business the week before the fourth of July, so the we decided it would be a great opportunity for the Tribe to see DC. After some investigation, we decided to stay at Cherry Hill Campground in College Park Maryland. It is midway between Baltimore and DC. The park is very convenient to both cities, and there are lots of amenities at the park.

When we arrived, checked in, and I recovered from the shock of having to pay $5 additional per child,  we were escorted to our site. Our first site was almost unusable, narrow, with the fire ring on an incline about 2 feet from the next site's sewer hose. The very helpful people in the front office allowed me to drive around to look for another site, which I did. We did find a better site, but it was difficult. Most all the sites are very narrow, to he point of discomfort.

Now, on the positive, the people are every friendly and accommodating, the amenities are great, and the location is awesome. It is one of those situations that is hard to judge. Would I recommend the place? Probably, but with caution.

Description

Official website 8 Not a very professional website. Hard to find the Home page.
Campground - Reserve

7

400 RV and Tenting campsites with water, sewer and electric hookups. The score of 7 is because, regardless of all the great amenities, the sites are not good. They are uncomfortably narrow. In addition, at $5 per child per day fee (we have 4) made it the most expensive camping trips ever.
Pool - very nice 9 The pool is awesome
Outdoor movies 9 An awesome feature
Playground

9

Very nice
Bike riding 7 There is riding around the campground, but it is hilly and there is quite a lot of traffic.
Public Transportation

9

The fact that you can get on a bus, ride to the Metro train, then ride straight into DC is a powerful feature.

Walking around the campground we found a lot of green crystals. We have yet to identify them
